Drive-In Batman

On July 19th I went with a group from my church in Philly to a Drive-In movie theater about an hour north of Philly.  There was a double feature that night but we only ended up staying for the first movie...Dark Night.  I was a little nervous about seeing it because it just seemed so dark in the pre-views and I really don't like those kinds of movies.  But I went anyway and had a really good time.  The movie was better than I thought it would be, though I probably won't be watching it again any time soon.
Before the movie started we hung out playing frisbee and listening to music as we waited for the sun to set.  Below are a few pictures.

This is Pepper and her baby skunk!  That's right, it's a skunk (sent sac removed).  She rescues animals and tries to rehabilitate them back to the wild but this little one wouldn't have made it so she is keeping it as a pet.  Pepper was very clear that she was NOT a people person but loved her animals (I wonder how her husband and son feel about that).

You should definitely check out the link below.  Its a clip of Pepper and her world renowned pet raccoon.  So strange!

4th of July

For the last 2 years I have taken a trip out to Topsail, NC for the 4th of July with a group of friends.  I was really looking forward to making the trip down to NC for the annual 4th of July trip again this year but as the date got closer things just didn't seem to be working out.  I ended up not being able to go to NC and the group ended up not even going to Topsail.  So instead I opted to see the fireworks in Phily with a few friends.  (I actaully ended up seeing 3 separate fireworks displays in one night).  It rained for most of the evening but they still set off fireworks all over the city.  We took our umbrellas and braved the subway into the city.  It turned out to be a pretty good time.  Here are some pictures...

4th of July in Topsail, NC 2006 - the first trip and some FABULOUS memories!
Fireworks in Phily this year.  This is a giant fountain with a statue in the middle.  A bunch of kids climbed up on the statue to watch the fireworks and I just thought it was a fun picture.
In the midst of the crowds with the fireworks right behind us.

July 3rd pre-fireworks fun

On july 3rd we took advantage of some phily entertainment.  Every other week during the summer there is a free showing of a movie by the river.  This week it was Office Space...a classic in my book.

Rob and Meredith's Wedding

The day of the wedding was fantastic.  Everything worked out just as planned and I think that Meredith and Rob had a really great time.  Here are a few highlights from the ceremony.

The candy buffet Meredith and I had worked on for months!

                                                             The first dance!

Rehearsal

Friday night was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  The dinner was at Stonewood Tavern and Grille and it was fantastic.  Between the rehearsal and the dinner the skies opened up and it stormed but the rain stopped just in time to have dinner outside.  It was such a fun evening.

Girls Day Out

The day before Rob and Meredith's wedding we spent some fun girls time together.  We had lunch at Panera and then went to get manicures and pedicures.
